For Teams from Other South American Countries

For teams from other South American countries wishing to participate in ITR Spain 2026, requirements are divided between Schengen immigration rules and technical competition criteria.

Since visa rules vary by nationality, preparation requires attention to deadlines.

1. Visa Requirements by Nationality

No visa required (Schengen exemption) – travel with passport only:

Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay, Venezuela

Schengen visa required – must apply for a tourist/short-stay visa at the Spanish consulate in their country:

Bolivia, Ecuador, Guyana, Suriname

Apply at least 30–60 days before travel

2. Mandatory Immigration Documents at the Border

Upon arrival in Spain, all South American team members (even visa-exempt) must present:

Valid biometric passport: Valid for at least 3 months after your intended departure date from Europe.

Proof of financial means: Minimum required by Spanish authorities is €122.10 per person/per day, with an overall minimum of €1,098.90 per traveler regardless of length of stay.

Mandatory travel insurance: Minimum coverage of €30,000 for medical, hospital, and repatriation expenses.

Round-trip ticket: Confirmed airfare with return within 90 days.

Accommodation: Confirmed hotel/Airbnb reservation or official Letter of Invitation.

3. Tournament-Specific Documentation (ITR)

To justify the technical and educational purpose of the trip to immigration, the ITR organization requires teams to provide:

RoboLeague registration: The robot and team members must be properly registered in the RoboLeague system.

Official ITR Invitation Letter: Issued by the organizing committee, attesting that the team has been invited after qualifying in their national stages.

Challenge registration proof: Printed document confirming the category in which the team will compete (e.g., Robot Dance, High-Risk Rescue, etc.).

4. Minors (Under 18 Years Old)

Since most school teams consist of adolescents, any participant under 18 traveling without both parents must have:

International Travel Authorization – notarized or judicially issued in their country of origin

Accompanied by copies of the parents'/guardians' identification documents
